I am a n00bie, so I don't know much about Linux. I was trying to get my iPod to work with Amarok via an article I found on the Web. I plugged my iPod in and a couple of screens came up. One was the screen that asked what to do with the iPod, but the other was a screen that asked how to manage the devices I had on USB.
Well, to make a long story short, I unplugged the iPod from the USB without clicking on the desktop icon. This caused Amarok to crash. I got an error message and the relevant code in a new outgoing email screen. Not thinking, I deleted it (I know, I'm an idiot ). Anyway, I attempted to open Amarok back up and it would not open. There was no error, it just wouldn't do anything.
So...., I attempted a re-boot, and when I did, the computer would start to boot, then lock up. I get the first Kubuntu icon screen, but then, when it starts to show all of the files that are stating, the system just hangs up and will not go any further. The only way to get it to do anything is to hit Ctrl Alt Del. This will cause it to attempt to re-boot again, where it does the same thing.
Now, normally, I would just re-load a backup, but.... (I already said I was an idiot ), I have not made one since I loaded the system a couple of days ago. I do not want to have to re-load everything all over again, so has anybody had this problem and is there a solution that I can do to fix this. I am currently using the Live CD to run, and do not know how I can access the laptop hard drive when booting from the CD (told you, you are dealing with a N00B ). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
