Logging into KDE works fine but after that nothing I can do with the keyboard (Cirque CIC360) has any effect so appears on the monitor. Feisty 64-bit has been working for several months. When it went out the user had just seen a message about activating slow keys, and he did not select slow keys. I hope there is some solution other than a complete reload; most repair procedures I have seen require keyboard entry.

Re: Keyboard not recognized after login
Ah. Found the slow keys setting. No need to boot into recovery mode.
Just log in normally, then go to K Menu > System Settings > Accessibility > Keyboard Filters > Use slow keys. For external use only.

Re: Keyboard not recognized after login
~/.kde/share/config/kaccessrc, option SlowKeys.
I just went in, sorted by modification time, changed the setting, then checked the modified files and searched them for "slow".For external use only.

Re: Keyboard not recognized after login SOLVED
I had forgotten about this from two years ago. Today I installed a new mobo, processor and memory, and the problem recurred. I fount that it did'nt happen when booting from a live CD. But on three installed versions, slow keys were enabled. Could thishave happened when I intreased delay time in a effort to eliminate duplicate letters when I hesitaie a fraction of a second while I think about what I'm typing"
