ProFTPd and GProFTPd - Not getting a directory list through FTP client.

I installed ProFTPd and then installed GProFTPd to set it up. For some reason I can't get a dir list with a FTP client. I have done the port forwarding to port 21 and everything. I don't know what to do or look at next. Please help me out here. Thanks!

Do you have ls in your ftp/bin directory? (If you don't, put it in and make it mode 0111.)

Ok.. Actually I just tried to login local by using GFTP and my local IP address of 192.168.2.55 and got a files and dirs list! But when I try from my friends house or through http://www.net2ftp.com it will not connect. Weird, huh? I have the port 2165 forwarded to port 21 in my router so what am I missing here? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Are you using port 2165 on the client?
