I got a strange problem, when I put a DVD on my PC the 'action window' pop up and a shortcut created on the desktop, but there is no action with a VCD, I can't even see it or mount it manually although I can play it no problem, but I remember I can mount it before.

There seems to be some problem with automatic mounting of cd and dvd discs, as well as, with usb sticks and external hard drives.
To my knowledge, some times they are to be mounted automatically and some other are not.
Specifically, I have the same problem with VCD disks.
Is there someone who knows this situation and can help. It sounds like a bug to me.
But in any case you can mount your media by giving: mount /media/cdrom0 or cdrom1.
This will make the trick for you.
