I am trying to try out SIP communication. I have the following:
Fujitsu P500D w/ built in Intel AC97 soundcard
I am using callwithus
I have ADSL with a Linksys router
I connect just fine and I can place calls. I can hear the person on the other end, but they can't hear me. I am fairly certain that I am an idiot and I am missing some setting. I have tried Ekiga and KPhone and get the same resulst with no action. Both apps seem to want to use alsa and KPhone also offers the option of oss. I have tried both. I have used kmix and alsamixer to try and select different inputs. Using either app, when I select the mic input I can hear myself immediately. However, the audio doesn't register with the application. Ekiga has a graphical feedback and it shows no audio. When I dial the echo test number, I don't get any feeback when I talk. What am I doing wrong? When I do a ps -e, artsd is running alsa and oss are not.
