doom 3 installation

Hi all,

Im new to kubuntu (and fairly new to linux for that matter), and am trying to install doom 3. I downloaded the binary from id software, and have copied all of the *.pk4 files into the /usr/local/games/doom3/base folder. When I try to run the binary it say Uncompressing Doom3 and then I get the following message.

./setup.sh: 279: /root/.setup7504: not found
./setup.sh: 290: /root/.setup7504: not found

Any help is greatly appreciated.

That seems to be an arch error, maybe u r running the 64 bits version of Kubuntu?

Nah, I suspect something to do with sudo. It's looking in root's home where it should be looking in his.

Just a thought try running the command with sudo then the binary you are trying to install and see if that works.
