    X Config

Hi all, new to Kubuntu from SuSE and I need a little help configuring my screen. The problem is that the display for X is slightly off to the right and I'm used to using YaST to configure the correct settings. I'm overall still a noob and I have no idea how to configure it. Can someone help me in configuring X. Thanks.

    Re: X Config

If I'm not mistaken this is something that while SuSE handles through software, most OSes handle through monitor auto-adjust (or manual, if you've got some older monitors like me).

Yeah, I changed the monitor's settings and it threw XP off. I reset the settings on the monitor (wrote them down).

              Hmm - there is xvidtune:

              man xvidtune:
xvidtune - video mode tuner for Xorg

              DESCRIPTION
Xvidtune is a client interface to the X server video mode extension
              (XFree86-VidModeExtension).

When given one of the non-toolkit options, xvidtune provides a command
line interface to either switch the video mode.

Without any options (or with only toolkit options) it presents the user
with various buttons and sliders that can be used to interactively
adjust existing video modes. It will also print the settings in a for‐
mat suitable for inclusion in an xorg.conf file.

              The available buttons are:

              Left
              Right
              Up
              Down
Adjust the video mode so that the display will be moved in
              the appropriate direction.

              Wider
              Narrower
              Shorter
              Taller
Adjust the video mode so that the display size is altered
              appropriately.

Don't know how good/bad this is. And read the warnings
              Before you edit, BACKUP !
