I need to install lame in order to use Audacity to deal with mp3 files.
I've found one thread here that deals with this issue, but it tells me nothing. How do I install lame so Audacity can find it? I've downloaded liblame0_3.96.1-1_i386.deb and liblame-dev_3.96.1-1_i386.deb, but when I attempt to extract 'libmp3lame.so', which is the file Audacity is seeking, I get an error. The file is supposed to be in \usr\lib but I can't get it there.
