trouble mounting with HDD

i have 2 hard drives...
one IDE 60 gig (LUNUX)
one SATA 160 gig (WINDOZ)
and, i cant seem to mount my windows hard drive...
umm, i think i have mounted it...
but i cant access it.. it says i dont have access rights...
but when i run the
kdesu konqueror
command
i can acess it, but i cant copy anything out, when i do it says
that direcroty does not exist..
anyone... can you help?

go to system settings>>advance>>disc and file systems. You can change the permissions and accessibility there. Also set up mount point etc.

Administrator mode>>click on drive>>click modify. Here you can select users, groups, writable an so on. You can also select the mount points.

when i try to copy a file from my mounted folder it says this:
(copy while in the kdesu konqueror)

You want to mount it under /media.
Also make sure that in the mount options you use "uid=1000,gid=1000" (or whatever your UID may be).

User ID. If you were the first user created on the system, your UID is 1000.

You can find out for sure by looking up your user name in /etc/passwd. Your UID is the third field. (Your GID--group ID--is the fourth.)

Oh, and eriefisher, I think you mean "cat /etc/fstab".

You have three windows partitions?This is what I have to access my windows drive.

/dev/hdb2 /media/windows ntfs nls=utf8,umask=0222,uid=0,gid=0,auto,rw,nouser 0 0

I never have problems accessing it. I just can't write to it.

all i want to do is play my music from my windoz partition...

ok, so i used kdesu konqueror
and i selected all my musac, and clicked open with, amarok
and it all opens..
i saved it as a playlist, it should play from now on right?
if so, thats all i need. but i really doo still need to mount my otehr drive some time..

You have modified those folders in windows to be shared I assume.

I read somewhere that sharing of folders in windows that are in your Documents and Settings folder is a problem. I always create the folders I want to share outside that directly under the drive name and have no problem sharing those. Simply move the files and folders you want to share to those folders.
