    d4d plugin?

At the moment, Kaffeine is not playing any encoded DVD's. I read about a plugin named d4d, but I can't find any .deb package so far. Will I have to download the .tar (as I am quite a newbie, I so far tried to avoid compiling myself)? Or does anyone know about a debian-package with this plugin being available?

    Thanks a lot,

I'm not sure if it's been superseded or not, but try installing the libdvdcss2 package, either through your favorite package manager or "sudo apt-get install libdvdcss2".
    For external use only.

Add the medibuntu repository to your /etc/apt/sources.list. You need to edit that file as root. So either navigate their with Konqueror and then right click sources.list -> Actions, Edit as root or from the command line 'sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list' then add the following:

        ## Medibuntu - Ubuntu 7.04 "feisty fawn"
        ## Please report any bug on https://launchpad.net/products/medibuntu/+bugs
        deb http://medibuntu.sos-sts.com/repo/ feisty free non-free
        deb-src http://medibuntu.sos-sts.com/repo/ feisty free non-free

then you need to add the medibuntu gpg key with:

        wget -q http://medibuntu.sos-sts.com/repo/medibuntu-key.gpg -O- | sudo apt-key add -

        then do a:

        sudo apt-get update

        then you should find it.

          Didn't know there was a medibuntu-repo. Thanks a lot!

When I did sudo apt-get update, I received the following message:

W: GPG error: http://medibuntu.sos-sts.com feisty Release: The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY 2EBC26B60C5A2783
W: You may want to run apt-get update to correct these problems

The libdvdcss2 was still in my list, so I could install it, after my computer seemed to doubt whether he would actually start to install or not.

So, there appeared to be no problem, although the message said there would be. Of course, I rather prefer this way then the other way around but still, I would like to know what this message actually means. Is it just a warning that this repo is 'unsupported' or what?

OK. I corrected my previous post. You really need to go to the community wiki, look under restricted formats and follow all the instructions.
