    "Actions" menu

In Mepis, when I was in Konqueror, I could right click-go to "Actions"- and choose "Open terminal here as root" or "Open Konqueror here as root".

How can I get the "Actions" menu to do that in Kubuntu?

All those option used to be under "actions" now it will depend on the type of file you right click on. things like "open in terminal-super user" would also be in the right click menu if it was an option for that file.

The problem is, I don't want to click on a file, I want to go to a directory and open it as root (not just a file).

If you were able to send me the relevant script from your Mepis system
(there to be found in /usr/share/apps/konqueror/servicemenus/ ...),
I could try to "rewrite" it for Kubuntu 8)

You can take a look at the 'root actions menu' I made up a while back:
          http://www.kde-look.org/content/show...?content=48411

Shouldn't be too hard to add an 'open a root console here' option there...and remove options you don't need.

i found this out by pure dumb luck a little while back, but you can open konsole at any directory by simply hitting F4.

They should really provide documentation for those things...
Not like documentation that you have to look up, but like... hmm... I'm not sure how to do it.
