I just found that my upgrade from Edgy to Feisty was broken in more areas... (refer to http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/inde...opic=3083228.0 for another issue I posted earlier on--still on progress...)
I didn't modify my samba configuration at all since it was working perfectly in Edgy. But I found that Feisty's upgrade to Samba kept giving me the following error message in the log:
[2007/05/16 22:30:59, 0] auth/auth_util.c:create_builtin_administrators(785)
create_builtin_administrators: Failed to create Administrators
[2007/05/16 22:30:59, 0] auth/auth_util.c:create_builtin_users(751)
create_builtin_users: Failed to create Users
And the response to "smbclient //myhost/myshare -U myid" was
Password: <correct password entered>
Domain=[MYHOST] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 3.0.24]
Connection to ▒v failed
The error message is practically gambled!
(I've done a little research on Google, but it was extremely hard for me to perform more detailed searches since the whole X is simply slooooow, as I mentioned in my other post mentioned above.)
Any idea?
