    konqueror

When using Konqueror each time I have to maximize it. Is there a way to have it max on opening?

i think your best option is the --geometry.
    something like:
    Code:
    konqueror --geometry 1680x1050
    i don't think a --full-screen exist.
    not sure though.

Thats odd. i've always had the opposite issue. hehe. Have you tried closing the window while it maximized? I believe it should save that setting on close but I'm a bit unsure...
I like KDE. My only gtk apps are beryl/emerald.

thanks, neither the geometry nor closing while maxed works. Is weird...

          --geometry has to work.
it's an X option and works with every X application.
          it has to work.

            Re: konqueror

One thing you can do is kmenu>system settings>window behaivour>window specific settings and then set a rule for konqueror to always be full screen or just full screen on open. There are a couple of rules already in there and you can probably figure out how to create what you want by looking at them.

Just what I was going to suggest.
In that window, just hit New... > Detect > click on a Konqueror window > Use window class > OK > Geometry, and check maximized horizontally and vertically, set them to "apply initially", and make sure the boxes on the right are checked.

                  Re: konqueror

Kicker is the KDE panel. The K menu is the menu on the far left of the panel, about where the Start button is on Windows.

It was missing, found it in usr/bin and invoked it. Now resident on my desktop.

                    Thanks

I don't know if that 'geometry' fix worked for you, but another way to do it is to just save the 'view profile'.
                      1. Open up Konqueror
                      2. Size the window the way you like.
                      3. Click "Settings"
                      4. Select "Save View Profile ___", where the blank is whatever view profile you are currently using. Probably "Web Browser"
                      5. When you get the next window, select "Web Browser" if it's not already selected.
                      6. Check "Save window size in profile"
                      7. Then click "save"

Now Konqueror should open up however you like it when you launch it as a web browser.
