sudo no longer asks for password

I recently had an issue that required me to use the recovery mode to fix things. Since then when i use sudo I am no longer prompted for my password. Nor am I asked for my password when I open up an application that would normally require it in the menu. The applications run as if i had put in my password.

To be honest that bothers me a lot since I am essentially left unprotected now and I may as well be running as root. I may not be a fan of the sudo scheme but I am even more bothered that I am left virtually unprotected at the moment.

Anyone know how I can fix this.

    found the answer here:

Same thing, somehow I was listed in the sudo group. removed myself from it and walla I am being asked for my password again.

Than why don't you just abandon it? - Further ranting, er, reading:
