    start up problem

Hello, I recently burned kubuntu to a CD and tried to use it on my laptop. The startup screen comes up like it should. But then a HUGE number of error messenger's comes up, I can't remember word-to-word, but in general things like" Squashfs error" and "could not read page" and "could not read block". But then it starts showing other things that look normal.
But eventually kubuntu starts up, and things start to work like normal. What I would like to know will it still show the error messages if I install on to my hard drive( the error messages take about twenty minutes). Thats a bit long to boot.

Also, when a I start openoffice, it takes about ten minutes to load( and the system is froze the entire time). Is this just because I'm using the live Cd?

Thanks for any help that can be offered.

G'day, Ihatevista (nice name, your parents were very perceptive)

When you burn an ISO, you need to burn it at a slow speed, like about 4X.

Not sure if this is your problem, but may be a thought.

Thanks Lowey, that seems to have fixed the problem.
