    Gnome Software in Kubuntu. Why?

I'm really new to Linux Desktop OSs.

We've been playing with new OSs for 3 days now.

I just installed Kubuntu (After removing Ubuntu) on my wife's machine.

In the Application Installer, I see a lot of software for Gnome in the list.
Are we not supposed to use that - can we use some of it - all of it?

If we're not supposed to use ALL of it, what happens if something for Gnome gets selected for install?

    Will it just not install?
Will it install but not work?
Or will it install and mess things up?

    Thank you,

    PME

You can use GNOME software if you'd like. If you choose to install a GNOME (gtk) package, it will pull in any dependencies it needs. In my experience, they even get added to the KMenu.

In any case, running a "mixed" system (combination of KDE and GNOME apps) is pretty common.

That's about what I thought, but I wanted to check to be sure.

      Thank you
