kmix volume settings are not saved

hello there,

i am changing the master volume in kmix to near maximum as the output it too low, and i have unchecked the box 'restore volumes on login' so that when a restart my settings should not be reverted to the defaults.

however, this is not working - volume levels are still being restored to the defaults when i log in.

strangely, i think this is only happening for one of my two users... the one which i created later and not for the one created during the install.

any ideas?

actually, am i just being stupid. should 'restore volumes on login' in fact be checked?

unless i'm mistaken, this is the default, and in the past i've had to uncheck it to get it to save my volume settings...
