Just Installed Feisty, Add/Remove Programs Doesn't Work

    Hello,

I'm a n00b to Kubuntu, I came over from Mandriva, and I'm having some problems.

I want to install Firefox (and many other things ;-) but when I click Add/Remove programs, it asks me for the root password, then nothing happens. It doesn't bring up the window and crash, it doesn't do anything. I'm doing this over wifi.

    Here's my hardware:

    PowerPro IV:28 ULTRA
    15" SXGA+ TFT Active Matrix w/ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 w/64MB DDR,
    2.66GHz Intel(r) Pentium(r) 4 Processor (Northwood) w/512k L2 Cache - 533MHz System Bus Speed
60GB Ultra ATA/100 Hard Drive at 5,400 RPM
    1,024MB (2 SODIMMS) PC2700 DDR Memory

    Thanks,
    actual

This is a known problem, not only in add/remove program but also other area when requesting password, try few times then it will work ! please use sudo apt-get in the shell to update and upgrade the system after first install before install any apps.
Do you Yahoo ? No I hiccup only :P

I ended up reinstalling, and I updated the system flawlessly, once I got the wifi working. Thanks for your suggestion!
