    Qtparted unmounting error!

I installed qtparted for formatting my ntfs partition (sd5) to ext3. it says first to unmount and then make the operations i want. I am unmounting my partition and displays an error that it cannot unmount the partition.
    What should i do?

At first, make sure that nothing is accessing the partition in question, no application, no file manager, not even a console.

Otherwise, it would be a good idea to post the original error message - "quotations" could be missleading.

I booted gparted on my XP laptop and it saw the XP partition as unmounted. Then shrunk the XP partition and added three more partitions, then apply and rebooted .
      XPcame up fine.
Thanks UnicornRider for the info on the bootable iso d/l of gparted.

You can't (rather, shouldn't) unmount your partition you're running off of.

If it's not your in-use partition, you may find the "lazy unmount" option useful. It waits until things are done using the partition then unmounts it.
        For external use only.
