"Problem with sound device" in Skype

After my first call, my Skype can't make calls anymore. I done "dpkg-reconfigure alsa-base", "dpkg-reconfigure skype" and "/etc/init.d/alsa-utils restart". None of them work for me. What am I doing? I think that other guys have the same problem.

PS.: sorry for my bad English. I'm not American or English.

If you use ALSA, try running Skype like this:
    Code:
    artsdsp -m skype

My problem might be hardware not software, but I cannot configure my usb microphone to work with Skype. I have sound through speakers but cannot talk.
      Any ideas?

Did you add you user account to the audio and voice groups? This may help.

Under the Kicker, go to Settings -> System Administration -> User Management. Then go to the Groups tab. Check the Show system groups button, then click on the groups you want to check. Make sure your user name is listed in the members box below. If not, go back to the Users tab, enter Administrator mode, and click Modify on your user name to add them there.

this microphone thing is a real pain in the neck.
i usually end up playing with kmixer.
is the input source under "switches" set to "mic"?
does changing the "capture" volume under "input" help?
                just wild guessing...

These two sound tutorials on Skype.com may shed some light on the problem:

                  - Linux sound FAQ

I got this message using ALSA. When I use OSS, i receive calls, but my microphone doesn't work.
