    Ubuntu Studio

    Hi All
Has anybody else got the Ubuntu Studio installed?

    It is a large install
I have tried several parts of it and it is working okay so far for me

    Check the following link http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...16#post2581416

Check the attachment it is a screen shot of how Ubuntu Studio opens so that you can check the options you want/need (about 57 options)

    Their web site is http://ubuntustudio.org/
They are still working on the site.

    Good Luck and have fun

    Re: Ubuntu Studio

No, and I'm annoyed about it. I want the Ubuntu Audio part of it, and when I attempt to install it, I get this:

    Code:
    ubuntustudio-audio:
Depends: supercollider but it is not going to be installed
So when I attempt to install supercollider, I get this:
    Code:
    supercollider:
Depends: libjack0.80.0-0 (>=0.98.1) but it is not installable
    So, I think I'm waiting ....

I did install Audacity and Gnome Wave Cleaner, and am getting by for the moment with the tasks that I wanted to do, but they shouldn't put Ubuntu Studio in the repos if it's not actually going to be available to Joe User.

      Re: Ubuntu Studio

What is Ubuntu Studio? Exactly what is it? Is it similar in a way to Automatix? That's the feeling I got at their wiki. Is it actual program that lets you do all they say you can? Just curious.

        Re: Ubuntu Studio

No, Moon, nothing to do with Automatix. Ubuntu Studio is attempting to "bundle" multi-media tools for Ubuntu users. My personal interest, at this point, is only in the audio side of it, but there is also a video bundle.

          Re: Ubuntu Studio

Does it offer "tools" to help develop, say, Splash Screens or such?

I would assume the "video" side of it might support dancing icons and cartoons and such -- I haven't explored that. Here's their web site:
