Autoconf problems while installing kooldock 0.4.6

I am trying to install kooldock 0.4.6. on feisty with the latest kde. Unfortunately adept only has 0.3, so I have to do a manual install. I try to follow the readme.
    First step is

"make -f Makefile.dist" (I tried also "sudo make..." - same result")

And here I encounter the problem.
    The message I get is:

This Makefile is only for the CVS repository
This will be deleted before making the distribution

    ./admin/cvs.sh: 651: --version: not found
    *** AUTOCONF NOT FOUND!.
*** KDE requires autoconf 2.53 or newer
    make[1]: *** [cvs] Error 1
    make: *** [all] Error 2

I have Autoconf 2.6 installed, even with the autoconf-archive (via adept).
In search for a solution I installed (if I remember the names correctly)
xlib-dev and sth called like "klib4" (sorry, I am a noob here ).

I tried applying solutions from similarly looking problems... but to no avail.
I have NO IDEA what else could I do.
Anybody? Please?? I really like the kooldock, but version 0.3 keeps crashing every now and then.. plus... the 0.4.6 works for others... why not for me??

For starters, you may post a link to this "readme" - thus (hopefully) enabling me / us to reproduce your problem ...

ok... so I tried something else... and I think my post can be deleted.
My problem concerned the "source download" from
      http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show...?content=50910.

I might be retarded I suppose.
What I did now was, I downloaded the "download" file.
      (kooldock_0.4.6_i386.deb).

I did a "dpkg -i" and it is now installed. I still got some strange error messages:

X Error: BadDevice, invalid or uninitialized input device 169
      Major opcode: 145
      Minor opcode: 3
      Resource id: 0x0
      Failed to open device
X Error: BadDevice, invalid or uninitialized input device 169
      Major opcode: 145
      Minor opcode: 3
      Resource id: 0x0
      Failed to open device
      kooldock: Installing crash handler

I read that with dpkg I have to take care of the dependencies myself,
and I have no friggin clue about that... but I guess it works fine.

I am not sure if there is some better way to deal with the .deb packages,
and would be grateful for any hints on that.
I also suppose that the "source files" installation should work,
but I really don't have much idea about that so...

Sorry for bugging U and "Trashing" the forum

if you can't get kooldock to work, i'd recommend ksmoothdock, its what i use.

How about right-klicking on it from inside the file manager and select Package > Install from the context menu
