    amarok won't start

amarok doesn't work after feisty upgrade. Actually it worked yesterday but not today.
I tried Enlightenment once, it was pretty cool.

Could you try to run Amarok from a terminal window and post the output here?

      Re: amarok won't start

Hi, I am also getting weird problems with Amarok and Feisty. It used to work perfectly with Feisty Beta, but since the last update it wont play MP3 files. The first time asked me if I wanted to install mp3 support but didnt help.
Now the weird part is that if I run amarok from the command line as root (sudo amarok) it will play MP3 files. I have uninstalled and installed the latest amarok several times without success..

I've had the same problem too, not only with Amarok. One day all of a sudden several programs from the K menu wouldn't start. They kept loading for a while and then just disappeared. A full system upgrade didn't help either. Now I've recently reinstalled Kubntu and I don't have this problem anymore. Sorry I can't help you.

I also have an Amarok isssue.
Somethimes Amarok starts, sometimes it doesn't.
            A restart usually helps things.

Even better than just rebooting your computer:
              Code:
              apt-get remove amarok
Then install XMMS with the cda-plugin or any other mediaplayer.
