KOffice Not Selectable in Feisty on One Computer

I installed Feisty on my system (listed in signature) and the kids' system. The kids' is a P3 866 192 mB RAM. Mine, KOffice components are selectable no problem, on the P3, they show up in the Add Programs menu, but are grayed out so I can't select them. Any ideas on how I can make them selectable?

I have tried a complete reinstall, same issue on the p3 computer, anyone have any info?

I should note, it worked fine in Dapper 6.06.

What do you mean, not selectable? you cannot run it, install it or what? have you installed it? do you have all repositories enabled? do you have enough free space?

To start from scratch: what does the following result in?

ROOT # apt-get update 
ROOT # apt-get install koffice

This I can answer. The strips in the Adept that have each office component (KWord, etc) with the check boxes are there, but the words and images are grayed out and I can't click on them, everything else seems OK though, it's just the KOffice stuff I can't. All the repos are enabled, and It is a fresh install on 20GB HDD, so space isn't an issue.

I will try that tonight, by ROOT# do you mean I have to do a sudo su, or is just sudo fine? I feel safe now that you are on this thread

A lot easier too than picking through all the individual KOffice programs in adept. Thank You!
