    Firefox and media player

    Hi there,

How do I setup FF so that it can play embed media like midi and mp3 ? is there a single player can handle most type of audio format ?
Do you Yahoo ? No I hiccup only :P

I usually install the mplayer-plugin and let it handle all the multimedia files that it can. It usually does a good job.

Do you mean apt-get ? so it is system wide not just for FF ?

        It's a plug-in like flash or java.

You will need to have mplayer installed system-wide for mplayer-plugin to work. But just installing mplayer-plugin should take care of everything.

You could try VLC. It's not pretty, but it plays absolutely everything.

I finally installed mplayer-plugin and it works great, except that the playback is very choppy even I didn't run other application in the background, my PC is little old a P3/866, isn't it too slow for midi ? well I don't think so !
