I didnt notice before on any of the other versions but is kubuntu and maybe ubuntu and others missing a very helpful misc. To be able to auto-align all icons on the desktop, either to the left, right, top, bottom. For example like windows where you right click the desktop and select auto-align and all icons auto align themselves in the desktop. Of course in windows is always to the left of the desktop but here i think it could be done to any of the positions mention above.
I see on my right click on kubuntu on the desktop the following:
On the Icon options of the popup menu:
Align to Grid
Lock in place
Align horizontally
Align vertically
Maybe another option like
Auto-align > Left,right,top,bottom
BTW am very happy with the beta since some of the problem i had with the 6.10 are gone. For example the printing system, the usb detection problems, nvidia problems and others. Very great work here.
