As instructed by SUN I installed Java on /usr/java, which is the same as the firefox about:config shown, I also changed the plugin library name to match with that, but ff does not use it. I tried to put a link to it but I couldn't find the ff plugin directory, help please !

Install "sun-java6-plugin" (or older sun-java5-plugin if you prefer) and its necessary dependencies from the repositories. Then restart FF and check "about
lugins" in the URL text field.

yeah, you made it way more complicated than it needs to be. just install the packages mentioned above from repo.<br />
