Adept inquired to upgrade Feisty to new distro?

I assume if I have been running Feisty since herd 3, and I just updated today and have been every other day since I installed it, that I actually have the beta distro? The adept notifier is not showing anything since my update this morning so I assume the answer to be that I am good to go?

I never really had any issue since I installed the distro... at least as far as me not being able to boot into the desktop. I think a very nice job has been done here.

And for any complainers... remember... it is free. All of it.

With Adept closed, In your Kconsole terminal window type

sudo dpkg configure -a

Yes, if you keep updating, you will be as current as you can get, more current than the last beta release as a matter of fact. As we get closer to the big day, there will be fewer updates compared to the herd releases. But don't be surprised if there are still new bugs and glitches that may pop up.

Also, there tends to be few if any updates on weekends/holidays so don't be surprised if you don't see any for a bit

This is what I got on the Konsole

dpkg: need an action option

Type dpkg --help for help about installing and deinstalling packages[*];
Use `dselect' or `aptitude' for user-friendly package management;
Type dpkg -Dhelp for a list of dpkg debug flag values;
Type dpkg --force-help for a list of forcing options;
Type dpkg-deb --help for help about manipulating *.deb files;
Type dpkg --license for copyright license and lack of warranty (GNU GPL)[*]

Yes, sort of, just type exactly as the original reply from dibl intended to say,

sudo dpkg --configure -a

without any typos, and all will be well.

But if it grumbles about the database being locked by another application, you will have to do a ps ax command, and find any instances of adept, synaptic, apt-get or dpkg (or any other bits of package management that I don't know about yet!) that have not exited properly and do a "sudo kill -9" on them.
