Two machines running Feisty - one a laptop, one a desktop.
On the Desktop I install:
apache2 (with mod for php 5)
php 5
mysql 5
phpmyadmin
- reboot -
fire up Firefox, go to http://localhost/phpmyadmin, and the phpmyadmin login screen displays

On the Laptop I install:
apache2 (with mod for php 5)
php 5
mysql 5
phpmyadmin
- reboot -
fire up Firefox, go to http://localhost/phpmyadmin, I get a server error message
er... ok, I can't find a difference between the two in terms of software installed, but my desktop machine seems to be serving phpmyadmin correctly and my laptop obviously isn't.
Can anyone think of any confguration files I need to check on to see what's going on?
