Can't enter administrator mode

It is always the case that I could not get into admin mode to change some setting, the logon prompt not always come out, this happened randomly in all versions I used.

Seemingly the Gods of Ubuntu prefer tinkering with toys like Beryl to hunting down nasty little bugs ... :P
