    Kubuntu Feisty and WM5 ... anyone ???

have anyone Kubuntu Feisty Herd 5 and WM5 mobile working together?

I use Kontact and like to sync my calendar with Kubuntu .. this only reason for me to use WinXp .. cant make it work.

I know there are how-to's, but i have had NO luck so far with them..
My WM5 is a HTC TyTn, also known as Hermes and so on..

At this pont i have RAKI installed and when i type dmesg WM5 ( HTC Tytn = Hermes .. ) on, it gives me this :
    .....
    [727.640000] usb 1-1: USB disconnect, address 4
[730.484000] usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 5
    [730.680000] usb 1-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
    .....

    kari@amd64:~$ lsusb
    Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 046d:092f Logitech, Inc.
    Bus 005 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
    Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000

Bus 001 Device 005: ID 0bb4:0b04 High Tech Computer Corp.
    Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000

    lsdev tells me that
    ehci_hcd:usb5 has IRQ 18

    When i run synce-serial-config /dev/ttyUSB0
    i get ..
    ERROR:
synce-serial-config was unable to find a character device named "/dev/ttyUSB0"

In my /dev/ there are NO ttyUSB* - characters .. only usbdev1.12_ep00 and so on ?

i try to conncet on usbdev1.12_ep00 and synce-serial-start tells me that device is ready .. cant use it thow .. or do anything with it

    now dmesg gives :
    root@amd64:/home/kari#

i have usb-rndis-ng installed at the moment... cant uninstall it either....

    kari@amd64:~/usb-rndis-lite$ sudo synce-serial-config /dev/usbdev1.2*_ep00

You can now run synce-serial-start to start a serial connection.

    kari@amd64:~/usb-rndis-lite$ sudo synce-serial-start

synce-serial-start is now waiting for your device to connect

---- !! it is already connected, but synce wont see it ---

    HELP, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeaaase.

Re: Kubuntu Feisty and WM5 ... anyone

Hi! Don't know if this can help you, but I can tell you how I managed to sync my Dell Axim X30 with Kontact using Syce/raki. I'm quite new, so if it's useless I apologise...
After trying many different installations, this way worked perfectly on Edgy:

      I. connect your PDA to USB
      II. sudo apt-get install synce-dccm synce-kde synce-kde-dev synce-serial librra0 libsynce0 libsynce0-dev
III. sudo apt-get install syncekonnector syncekonnector-dev
      IV. sudo apt-get install kdepim kdepim-dev kdepim-dbg libqt3-headers libqt3-mt-dev kdelibs4-dev kdepim-dev
      V. dmesg -> you should read something like pocket pc connected to ttyUSB0
VI. sudo synce-serial-config ttyUSB0 (without /dev, just like this)
      VII. start raki
      VIII.start synce: sudo synce-serial-start
IX: raki opens, you have to select vdccm, then left click on raki icon and configure pocketpc with appointments and contacts; on appointments or contacts line, press the configure button and select "use existing calendars", it should automatically set you Kontact files

Just one problem: it worked fine on edgy (I was SO HAPPY!) , seemed to work on feisty but raki crashes while retrieving apponitments. It syncs, I can open pocket pc directories and install/remove programs, just fails on appointments, which is the mani feature in my interest. I don't know if it's a bug due to the upgrade to feisty (instead of reinstall), I'm trying to solve this. If it works for you, please tell me. If you find another way to do the sync to Kontact, I'd like to know how to get things work! Bye
