    Kubuntu branding..?

Forgive me if this topic has been discussed before. I searched and didn't find much on the subject.

It's kind of puzzled me why Kubuntu doesn't have it's own button like Ubuntu and Xubuntu do. I know it's not a huge deal, but I think the KDE logo should be replaced with the Kubuntu symbol.

by button you mean kmenu button right?
if thats what you mean, i think that'd be a good idea. i've seen screenshots where ppl have either customized the default one or are using themes where its different, (i.e. the kubuntu logo), i kinda wish i had a fancy kubuntu logo there too...

i know about kbfx, but i was disappointed with it when i tried it. (a few months ago). i thought it'd work more like the winxp menu from what i saw....but i'll give it more time, once it matures, i'm sure it'll get even better.

      1. You can change the K Menu icon by following these instructions:

      http://docs.kde.org/development/en/k...html#id2552435

      2. There are lots of icons that can be chosen from http://www.kde-look.org

      3. This has been discussed by the devs before. The main reason given for keeping the default K Menu icon is to preserve the KDE branding in some areas: K Menu, headers for KDE Help Center, and the about:konqueror page.

I personally would like to have a Kubuntu icon as a default, but since the matter has been decided already, I just make the changes myself. However, the plain Kubuntu logo doesn't lend itself well to being a K Menu icon, so you might want to look for alternative icons.
