    restricted formats?

what is the way to install all the plugins for the restricted formats ? I have read https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RestrictedFormats but the instructions for Feisty Fawn seem to be for ubuntu and not kubuntu (can not find Applications → Add/Remove)

    Thanks in advance

use your package manager buddy. enable the rest of the repos in your sources.list.

btw, not to sound like a jerk, but use the search feature on the forum. this question has prolly been answered a million times....

thanks you for your helpful answer-

I have already enabled all the rest of the repos in the list (before posting) but I would like to know what packages I should install for being able to play any multimedia file. Is is the same package "list" as for 6.10 ?

      thanks in advance

I dunno why they edited the wiki page, but there used to be a good section for "getting things going in a hurry". I have dug up a prior version from the wiki's history. The filed for feisty will have the same file names as for Dapper/Edgy

Yes it has, but the wiki page (probably discovered by a search) does not give Kubuntu-specific directions like it used to, and tells you to install packages that are, except for 1 or 2, completely useless for Kubuntu users. All the gstreeamer packages, for example.

i noticed that when i looked at it. but he didn't mention that he didn't know what specific packages. but thats understandable. i would mention some, but since he still hasn't asked, i guess he figured it out...

I just installed the package list mentioned here https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Re...e94a2fcb382e0c

                as claydoh said.
