Im a totally newbie in Linux and I have Kubuntu 5.10 in my iBook G3 500 Mhz Dual USB model. It dual boots with OS X. After installation, I noticed that no sound was coming out from the speakers but the system shows sound is working. I later found that I had to insert a headphone jack to the speaker output and pull it and sound started to come out from the speaker. I thought it was just a hardware glitch so I re-installed Kubuntu again, no sound again but after inserting the headphone jack and pulling it out, sound came out.
