Sound issue with amaroK

Hi again,

I'm having problems with amarok. When i want to play music no sound comes out and then a strange sound is produced, like the sound you get with static on the telle. I,ve tried running an update but it didn't work... Any ideas? :?:

Make sure you using the proper sound output engine.

For me, Xine engine work great with alsa. to install it, open shell then issue "sudo apt-get install amarok-xine".

Have you tried Vlc player ? it's a great player and play almost all type of media files.

I've done sudo apt-get install amarok-xine... didn't work.

I'll give Vlc a shot when i get home 2night. Thanx

Make sure you selected the Xine output engine from amarok settings. however I'm sure you won't look back once you use the vlc player.

How do install vlc player? is it sudo apt-get install vlc-player

apt-get install vlc

, You also have to install the output plugin, for example if you using alsa

apt-get install  vlc-alsa
