Tool for accessing remote files

I know how to access remote files by setting up an fstab entry for them and then mounting them via samba or nfs as appropriate. But that's the sort of thing that I'd expect could also be done, more conveniently, through some type of GUI tool. I looked for something in kcontrol to do the job but couldn't find anything. Is there such a tool?

See if mount manager is what you are looking for. It is in the repos.

Mount manager?

I tried doing a search in Synaptic on mount manager but did not find anything there for dealing with remote files. Do you have a specific pointer?

I thought there might be something in kcontrol for this purpose, but if there is, I couldn't find it.
