VNC and display

hi there!

I've been messing around with vnc an got it running.
But for my needs it would be good to actually see the desktop which I control over vnc. Meaning when I connect to the pc I would like to see the same display which I see when I sit in fron of it.
So far I see the empty desktop but not the programms which are actually running.

is this possible?

Ahh, I should have searched a little bit more because abviously I had' problems finding the right words to describe what I really meant. Connect to an "existing" session that is and x11vnc seems to be the solution...

But thanks anyway
