Installing an internet connection of Kubuntu

I've been trying to install an internet connection for 3 days now, and yet didn't succeed.
I'm clueless when it comes to linux and connection types and such, so I'll just give you everything I found that should help:

    http://cables.org.il/ik
    >howtos

That one I've got from my ISP. I wasn't home so they couldn't help more at a time.

    and these scripts:
    http://www.cables.org.il/ik/

I've tried to follow a couple more guides, none helped.
Can someone try to look through these howtos and scripts to see what connection it is and how would you typicly install it?

The linux group in my ISPs service is very small and barely works, couldn't get a hold of them while being home :<

    thanks.

There may be two problems here - I don't know.

Recently I installed a wired ISP-based network, and had to start the browser and just put some code in to activate it. If this is part of what you are having trouble with - in principle any browser any system should work. But so many today rely on special features built only into IE, so you may need Windows to start the network.

This may or may not be the case for you.

Other than that - should not a working ISP network cable just plug into your computer, point to knetwork manager at the side of the clock, and choose "wired network" be all that is needed?
