Viewing Feisty desktop remotely under XP

I looked into this several times and have just spent another two hours scanning the forums and wikis. I feel I now know less than when I started! Can someone please help?

I have a PC running Feisty, which I use for downloading and offline processing. I have another PC (currently) running XP which I sit at doing most of my day-to-day work. The two PCs are on my home network.

I want to be able to sit at the Windows PC and occasionally check (and possibly control) the progress of my Feisty PC remotely. So I gather I need some sort of server on Feisty (krfb?) and some sort of client on XP (TightVNC?). Is this right and, if so, how do I set it up?

    Any help appreciated

Set it up for uninvited connections and use a password.

In windows use tight vnc. It's easy to set up, you just enter the ip address of the Kubuntu box and your off.

Thanks a lot! Sounds like I was on the right track.

I probably need to set up a fixed IP to make things easier, if IP is the way of referencing the Feisty box.

A static ip is usually easier but you can also do it by name if there is a name server set up. Probably is.
