Another Wireless Mystery with Kubuntu Versions

I am using Kubuntu 6.04 and Kubuntu 6.10 and Kubuntu 7.04 with a wireless connection.

Dapper Drake connects reliably to the wireless access point; Feisty does most of the time but with a much weaker connection. Gutsy however does not connect 75 percent of the time.

Identical settings for all three; same wireless network.
I am using KNetworkmanager to manage the connection and, it that fails, dhclient on a command line.

Does anyone know what could cause this mysterious behavior?

At this time the new and improved versions of Kubuntu are almost wirhtless to me because only 6.04 connect reliably.

    Any ideas, anyone, please?

    Hey,
Try uninstalling all of the wireless you have adn reinstalling. Then uninstall Kwalletmanager. There is an issue with them talking.
    Code:
    $sudo apt-get remove kwalletmanager
