    Can't connect to wireless network

I have a ralink rt2500 based wireless card and a belkin 54g wireless router. I can see the network detected by KNetworkManager but when I try to connect, it hangs at 28% "Configuring device" It makes no difference if I'm using encryption or not. Wireless Assistant is able to connect but I can't access internet this way.

I had this problem too. I don't know what kind of security scheme you want to use. but I use WPAPSK with TKIP. That doesn't work with the network manager. What you have to do is to uninstall the network manager, and install the rt61-1.1.0-b2 driver from Rt2x00.serialmonkey.com. The driver has reasonable instructions on how to do this. This is the open source driver for the Ralink RT61 chip set. I just did this last night and finally got 7.04 up and running!
