    Samba user account

I have Samba installed and my W2K box sees the Kubuntu box. However, I can't login. When I use Sytem Settings>User Management, the smbguest account is disabled. I can click "modify" and then the "enable" button, but it still shows as disabled and it won't accept the login.

Yes. The server part is installed and some folders shared.

Have you tried it with "user" level security and logging in with a valid smb user name and password?

I found the problem. I had set the password via Kubuntu >User Management instsead of smbpasswd. Apparently that is a no no.
