Wierd pop3 inconsistencies on GPRS dialup

    Any ideas about this one:

I can connect to the internet via wired and wireless using network manger and get internet access and pop3 and secure smtp access to gmail's servers via Kmail. All the mail client configuration looks fine.

I have managed to get GPRS dialup to work using bluetooth, GPRS and my nokia using KPPP. I can surf the internet, I can send mail using Kmail secure smtp to gmail. I cannot, however, persuade Kmail to download mail using pop.

Kmail does not give me an error. It checks the server and then reports no mail even when the web client shows up new unread mail. I can ping gmails pop server, and Kmail will check the server to see what authentication it supports too.

I can;t work out what is not playing along, as soon as I go back to wireless it works again.

This is really bugging me, any ideas most appreciated.

    Rob.

Help me Obi Wan.... you're my only hope...

Have you tried any other email programs?

You can also try to connect via a telnet session if you wish too.

    #>telnet your.mail.server 110

And see what kind of response you get.
