Detecting my onboard wireless after boot

Hi all,

I have an Acer Aspire 3650 and its wireless card is an atheros 5005g onboard. If I boot my note with my wireless on, everything works fine, but if I do that with it off and after boot I turn it on, it doesn't work because my wireless hardware isn't detected.

What i should do to make my linux detect my wireless card after boot ?

Don't know how much of that you can apply in Kubuntu -- I'm not a wireless kinda guy :P
