    Wireless Woes

    Hi,
I'm new to kubuntu and am anxious to start using it but I can't seem to get my wireless connection to work. I opened up KNetworkManager and tried to manually configure the wireless interface because it's not picking up the ESSID. I also typed in the WEP key. When I click apply I get this message: "The default Gateway IP address is invalid."

Below is the output from iwconfig: (i'm not sure why it picked up the name HERMES I, that's not my network

    root@jenn-laptop:~# iwconfig

    Re: Wireless Woes

I am sorry, I don't have a solution here. I do have the same problem though. My card does not show up when I do lspci, But I know it is there and is connected to my driver because when I use the

    sudo iwlist scanning

command, I get a list of all the networks my system can see.

But I can't get onto wireless.

Have you been able to make any progress?
