Network setting not staying

when I configure the network via KNetworkManager my settings never stay. This is a wired setup. I'm using a static ip with the isp's dns and my default gw I hit apply and save settings but they donot stay on reboot. it defaults back to dhcp w/o dns.

What files can I edit manually to make the setting permanent. I'm using kubuntu 7.04 fiesty

Did you try to completely remove KNetworkManager and reconfigure the interface subsequently (?).

Be that as it may - the files you're asking for are:

# /etc/network/interfaces
# /etc/resolv.conf
# [ /etc/hosts ]

Add.: making them "read-only" may help as well.
