In Dapper and Edgy versions of Kubuntu, the SMB client worked out-of-the-box and allowed access to M$ networks. In Feisty, the SMB client is installed but when I try to access an SMB share, a popup message says there are "no workgroups on network. Firewall may be blocking access." What's the deal? There's no firewall on my Windows Machine and none on Feisty that I can see.

Re: SMB client not working properly
I can duplicate the 'msdfs proxy' line in smb.conf. If I comment it out, I still can't see shares across the network. Plz Help.
Then I tried this. restored my smb.conf file from a backup I made before changing anything. Then I followed this guide which worked for me on Edgy Eft: http://doc.gwos.org/index.php/Share_files_using_Samba. This didn't work on Feisty. No shares are found.
