Network issue

Ive 2 problems with my network in feisty

first: when booting feisty it takes around 1 min to configure the network devices
second: when I'm booting without a LAN wire plugged in i cant connect to the LAN later on i have to reboot with the LAN wire plugged in so its working

i don't really know why.

I'm using:

Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168B PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet controller (rev 01)

Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection (rev 02)

(and i have the nvidia-glx driver installed)

This may be a stupid question, but are you activating the ethernet controller after you plug in the cable?

You should go into the network tool in control center/system tools and bring up the configuration page. You should see both network adapters listed. You may have to run through the configuration and activate the network card.

I would also recommend checking the "activate at boot" option.
Also, can you provide the output of the dmesg command?

the ethernet controller is activated on boot even without a wire plugged in

it wont help:
- to use ifconfig eth0 down and up
- to deactivate eth0 in the control center and bring it up again
- to use dhclient to recieve an ip

I'm also not able to click on wired network @ KNetworkmanager

May be "yes" or "no" - but if I were you, I'd disable IPv6 support as well as KNetworkManager ...

Well, if you boot with ethernet interface enabled, but without cable plugged in, KNetworkManager will configure it and connect correctly (at least it does on mine and my friends pcs).
That said, try disabling IPv6 support as suggested by UnicornRider.

Also, what do you mean with

Well, if you boot with ethernet interface enabled, but without cable plugged in, KNetworkManager will configure it and connect correctly (at least it does on mine and my friends PCs).

It did work for me under edgy but under feisty its not working.
I've disabled IPv6 but its still not working.

I'm wondering what this section

eth0:avah

is for. its only in the output after a boot without a LAN wire plugged in.
