edgy eft to feisty fawn atheros woes...

Feisty fawn looks ok - but now my atheros wifi is not functioning.

Do I need to install madwifi where eft natively recognized the atheros wireless?

I haven't seen too much about this - I'm using an acer aspire laptop, and would appreciate any heads up.

Thanks in advance for this headache solver

    Hi,
I also have a laptop with atheros based wifi section and I have no trouble recognizing hardware. There are some problems when connecting to an access point with hidden ESSID though.

Can You provide iwconfig, ifconfig output?

      Here is an update -

I changed the madwifi modules to 386 for x86/64 and can now SEE the network - but does not connect automatically.

I have to manually connect to the network and then it will work - but does not automatically do so the next time. Do you think this might work better if I completely remove the x86 modules?

I don't think removing modules will help. You might have some other problem.
