Thanks again. That fixed it, but I had to go back and set my cache again for the update to work.

Are these problems normal, or am I just unlucky?

I wouldn't go as far as to say you're "unlucky", these issues are just side effects of actions you have taken, that's all. The good thing is, if you run into these again, you'll be able to fix them quickly and easily, without having to request help from the community
